For over 20 years, Rakem have been the largest supplier of TiO2 into the UK paper industry. TiO2 is used in technical and graphic papers giving opacity and brightness. Additionally, we can optimise the use of TiO2 with a range of speciality fillers including, Kaolin, PCC and Blanc Fixe. Our expertise gained over many years has led us to develop a range of unique blends which can be used at the size press and will enhance printability of non-coated papers. We work with some of the most respected names in the industry such as Thiele Kaolin, Imerys and Venator. Our sister company, Maker, has a slurry facility that can provide >15,000 of clay slurry pa. in tankers or IBC’s. It has a dedicated test laboratory and is working with Mills in the UK and abroad to maximise efficiency of pigment use and new unique coating formulations.
