Rakem is Silysiamont spA's UK partner. As one of the worlds leading manufacturers of micronised silica gels, Silysiamont's SpA's SYLYSIA brand is distributed into the coating, ink, polymer film and textile industries.

SYLYSIAŽ is a wide range of synthetic, micronized amorphous silica gel different degrees of porosity and high purity. The chemical structure of SYLYSIAŽ is based on Silicon Dioxide SYLYSIAŽ has a sponge-like structure with different degrees of porosity that varies from low (0,4 ml/g) to high ( 1,8 ml/g) pore volumes. SYLYSIAŽ are characterized by high specific surface area (300-700 m2 /g). SYLYSIAŽ is available in a wide range particle size. All these properties are precisely controlled to meet a wide variety of applications available.

SYLYSIA - Micronized particles with high porosity. Sylysia is characterized by large internal surface area with a large number of pores, forming a three dimensional structure by the silicate.

These properties are precisely controlled to meet a wide variety of applications.

Sylysia has been widely employed as a matting agent for all types of resin paints for wood, industrial and coil coating systems and has recently been proven useful in water-based paints and inks.

Plastic films tend to adhere to each other at the many points of contact; a phenomenon called blocking. Such blocking problems occur in various kinds of plastic films, and can be minimized by introducing Sylysia into the formulation. High speed printing performance also suffers from similar problems. Wet ink printed on film, sheet, or paper transfers onto contact surfaces of other materials that are piled together. Sylysia has proven to be extremely effective in the prevention of ink transfer.
